This is the best Sunday roast in Dubai.
The lamb is the reason. Twenty-four hours of slow cooking left it absurdly tender and properly juicy, with a depth of flavor that puts it at the top of the city’s Sunday roast class — and, frankly, in conversation with the very best in the UK. Everything on the plate tasted unmistakably fresh; you could tell at a glance that nothing had been sitting around waiting. The potatoes were just as good — crisp on the outside, creamy all the way through, the kind of roast potato that makes you wonder why so many places still get them wrong. By far the best potato in Dubai. Second place, is a distant second. The green beans were simply perfect, well seasoned and bright. Most green beans are an afterthought for Sunday Roast. These are treated as a separate, but dynamic component to the entire meal. The Yorkshire puddings (along with the bread) were outstanding — better, frankly, than what is available in actual York. There was also a Yorkshire pudding filled with oxtail that was dangerously good; I’m not entirely sure of its proper name, but I am sure I will be ordering it again. This component of the meal is mind blowing to an American. Never seen anything like it.
My wife, who does eat cauliflower cheese, was equally pleased with hers. We shared the lamb for two and had plenty left — the portions are generous without being ridiculous. Given the quality of the food and the setting, the price feels entirely fair.
The attention to detail is absolute, from the cooking to the plating. The room itself is contemporary and genuinely fun — the kind of place that makes you want to settle in and properly enjoy your Sunday. The wine list is impressively put together, and the views are a pleasant bonus, though the food is so good it could be served in a dark pub and still be the best available in Dubai.
A couple of notes: the root vegetables were underwhelming, if not an afterthought, and the mint sauce didn’t quite land. However, the lamb itself is literally magical, and the mint sauce isn’t really necessary. Service was attentive without hovering, which is the ideal balance, though they did bring the wrong beer twice and misheard my wife’s drink once. None of it spoiled the afternoon.
Key aspect: the live music played at a volume that let you actually talk, the room felt warm and well judged, and by the end I was so happy I asked for a photo with the chef.
Lunch, around AED 350–400 a head. Worth every bit of it.
